Camp Girl Boss

Empowering the Next Generation of Female Leaders

Make a difference by Mentoring Girl Bosses

Upon completion of the Camp Girl Boss virtual program, campers are invited to participate in the Fall 2020 Business Plan Competition, where they will be placed on teams of 5 girls and 1 ‘woman in business’ mentor. Over the course of the 7-week innovation journey, the teams will work together to develop their own unique solution to the national challenge. Submissions will be judged first to select the winning team from each state, by a local team of 10 judges, and then will move on to the national competition where the winning team will be awarded $10,000.

Teams of Girl Bosses

Upon completion of the Camp Girl Boss summer program, camp graduates will have the opportunity to apply to join a team of girl bosses from their own state to compete in the national Business Plan Competition.

Women in Business Mentors

The 2020 Business Plan Competition is will host up to 100 teams per state with 1 sponsoring woman mentor per team. We are recruiting “Women in Business” now to host their own local team. Deadline to apply is September 1st

What does it mean to Mentor?

Every team is comprised of 5 middle school girl bosses and 1 ‘Woman in Business’ Mentor. We are looking for women who have experience in business, whether that is in owning their own business or working in a professional setting. The role of the Mentor is to assist with facilitating the team meetings, keeping the team on task, and providing guidance around the completion of the business plan submission.

To become a Mentor, you would commit to sponsoring the team for the competition (tax deductible donation of $250), complete the 90 minute Camp Girl Boss Mentor Certificate (overview of curriculum and competition rules), and then manage the 7-week virtual program with the team of 5 girls. Each team will be provided a video conference breakout room and access to the Business Plan Competition Web App, with all supplemental materials provided. Teams are asked to meet virtually twice a week in order to complete the Business Plan.

There can be up to 100 teams per state and the girl bosses will have just completed the summer Camp Girl Boss program, which introduces them to the entrepreneurial terminology and concepts explored in the Competition.

The 7-week program launches September 15th and final submissions are due November 6th. Winners will be announced at the Camp Girl Boss Virtual Conference on November 21st. Deadline to Apply is September 1st
